Eco-Logic Living helps householders and businesses in Cumbria reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint
Eco-Logic Living is helping local householders and businesses reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint. The company offers everything from property assessment, grant advice, system design and installation through to servicing and after care.
Judy and Islam Pearson decided to set up Eco-Logic Living after their experiences in property development. “By choosing renewable energy sources households and businesses will be protected from the fluctuations of fuel prices. Renewables can save up to 65% of ongoing energy bill, with the added bonus that you’re doing your bit for climate change,” said Judy Islam.
“Renewables are becoming more mainstream. Awareness of different technologies is growing and people are seeing just how they fit into everyday buildings, it need not be any more complicated than buying a boiler.”
“In terms of the incentives, there are lots of government-backed grants and incentives to actually buy the kit in the first place. Some of these will be phased out by 2011 and replaced with the renewable energy ‘feed-in’ tariffs, this means that for every kilowatt of energy that you generate through renewable energy, you’re going to get money back for it. So, at the moment you get the best of both worlds, you get a grant to install it and then you’re going to get paid for it in the future,” she added.
“From when a customer starts thinking about a renewable energy technology solution and selecting a product or technology,” Judy explained, “right through to installation, maintenance and servicing, we can help. We want our customers to get the solutions that exactly fit their needs and give them the maximum savings. You need never go anywhere else.”
Eco-Logic Living doesn’t just focus on one technology. They design, supply and install heat-pumps, biomass boilers, solar thermal, solar photovoltaics, heat recovery, underfloor heating and rainwater harvesting. It also has partnership agreements with a number of top quality brands so it can find exactly the right solution and price point for every customer. “We’re not just trying to fit our product to their need,’ said Judy. “We go to them, see what they need and find the best solution for each individual.”
Eco-Logic Living can also provide advice and information on grants, funding and renewable energy in general. “We want to provide a knowledge base,” explained Judy. “It’s part of our added value. It’s a bit of a minefield trying to look at all the grants that are available, which might be the best for you and how you apply. We can guide you through that process and make sure you get the best deal.”
Judy and Islam are joined by a growing team of skilled staff. “We keep everything in house to make sure we can provide a coherent service. We’ve committed a lot of resources in training our staff and our engineers. All our engineers take a real pride in their work, they look at their installations as a work of art. They’re not going to leave your house in a tip!”
“We’re a family company and I think that’s apparent in our underlying values. We’re friendly and approachable, there’s no hard sell. If you want to phone for a chat about renewables in general, that’s fine. We’re just going to be honest and open about what we can provide and what it could save you. No one solution will be right for every customer but we can guarantee that there is something out there for everybody. Our quest is to find that right solution and to make the whole process hassle free.”
