Clear Skies Solar installs solar photovoltaic system at McGowan headquarters
Clear Skies Solar, Inc. has announced the successful installation of the McGowan Builders solar energy system at the company's newly renovated 37,000 square foot headquarters in East Rutherford, NJ.
For this project, Clear Skies Solar installed a 123.90 kw direct current solar photovoltaic (PV) system designed to offset current energy usage charges incurred by the majority of McGowan's building. Through a reduction in energy cost, government incentives and the New Jersey Clean Energy Program's (NJCEP) Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) Pilot Program, McGowan Builders is expected to recoup its initial investment in approximately six and a half years.
"This project was a great experience," said Ezra Green, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Clear Skies Solar. "Anytime you have the opportunity to work with a quality organization such as McGowan Builders, you jump at the chance. Everything went like clockwork and we couldn't be more pleased."
Forte Maldonado, CFO of McGowan Builders, Inc. stated, "We were very happy with the Clear Skies team and the work they performed. Their efficiency and professionalism delivered a quality product that will yield tremendous benefits far into the future."
"This system's 708 Suntech 175-watt panels will offset the electricity usage of approximately 16 average-sized New Jersey homes, making it a perfect example of implementing positive energy solutions in the real world," added Green. "Providing both cost savings and environmental benefits, it's truly a win-win scenario."
