SolarWorld have been selected to power the North American headquarters of Vestas, a leader in providing high-tech wind power systems. Both SolarWorld and Vestas have their headquarters for the Americas in the Portland area. Danish company Skykon has announced that it has acquired the Vestas plant near Campbeltown. The agreement will save the seven-year-old wind tower manufacturing plant from closure, bringing long term job security to the 100-strong workforce. EDF Energies Nouvelles commissions 70MW wind farm in Sardinia(27/11/2008)
EDF Energies Nouvelles has announced the commissioning of the Campidano wind farm in Sardinia. With 70 MW in installed capacity, this wind farm is equipped with 35 Vestas V90 wind turbines. The Campidano facility is held jointly by EDF EN Italia, a 95%-owned subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles, and by Fri-El Green Power, a local partner.
