GE2M: Global expenditure on renewable energy projects to double by 2020
(19/03/2010)

According to a new long-term projection model from Bloomberg New Energy Finance, annual global expenditure on renewable energy projects will increase from $90 billion (USD) in 2009 to $150 billion in 2020. The model shows that this will further increase to $200 billion by 2030 given current policy targets. The new findings apply the Bloomberg New Energy Finance Global Energy and Emissions Model GE2M, which is a long-term projection model covering the entire world energy system. The new mod... [more]

Green Energy Fund: Sudbury Hall reduces its carbon footprint by 80 per cent
(03/09/2009)

One year since the 17th century Sudbury Hall in Derbyshire became the one of the first National Trust mansions to be powered by small-scale renewable energy through a green energy partnership with npower, its carbon emissions have been cut by over 80 per cent. The property’s biomass wood pellet boilers were installed a year ago this month and, since then, Sudbury’s annual carbon (CO2) emissions have dropped from over 52 tonnes to under 12 tonnes. This decrease in emissions has occurred despit... [more]

Green Roadway Project: Green Roadway Project creates and distributes solar or wind energy along roadways
(15/07/2009)

Two inventors have patented The Green Roadway technology portfolio, an end-to-end system of installations and configurations for creating, gathering and distributing solar or wind energy along roadways. The technology could be implemented on the right-of-way along interstate highways, local roads and even railways. “Genedics’ Green Roadway patents describe a forward-looking clean energy system that provides near term solutions to power generation siting difficulties,” said Victor Cardona, Co-...
