New community building in Carperby minimizes its carbon footprint with an air source heat pump and Dimplex solar PV panels(11/11/2011)
The villagers of Carperby in Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park have worked hard to raise the funds for a new sports and community building, securing sponsorship from Mars’ community programme, amongst other sources. To minimise its carbon footprint, the new pavilion incorporates renewable technology, including PV panels installed by Dimplex renewables accredited installer Revolution Power. The new sports pavilion is a facility ... [more]
Dimplex solar PV panels installed on farmland at Slepe Farm solar power station(31/10/2011)
A new solar power station in Dorset, the largest of its kind in the county, is capable of generating enough electricity for around 200 average homes. Nearly 2,000 Dimplex solar photovoltaic panels have been installed on farmland at Slepe Farm, close to Poole harbour and the adjacent marine and heathland nature reserves. The scheme was commissioned by renewable power station operator Farm Power and was designed and built by Reading-based Dimple... [more]
Dimplex covers its Southampton office's roof with 268 solar PV modules(20/10/2011)
In the first phase of Dimplex’s PV project, in the summer of 2010, 16 solar panels with a total output of 3.68kWp were installed on the southwest facing office roof. The array performed so well that it was decided to cover the majority of the suitable roof space with a total of 268 modules. Dimplex is now benefitting from even lower energy bills and reduced carbon emissions at its offices near Southampton with a 61kWp solar PV installation of its... [more]
Dimplex's Air-Eau heat pumps offer variable water flow temperatures for maximum space heating comfort(14/09/2011)
Dimplex's new Air-Eau inverter-driven heat pumps offer market-leading energy efficiency and performance, low noise levels and easy installation. With outputs from 6-16kW, the range covers domestic applications from small, well-insulated new build homes, to retrofits in existing homes which will have higher heat requirements. The range achieves very high CoPs of up to 4.7 across a range of operating temperatures. Designed to work efficiently... [more]
Peace of mind with Dimplex's new ten year solar panel warranty(05/09/2011)
A solar PV system should be maintenance-free for many years as it has no moving parts; a ‘fit and forget’ way for householders, businesses and other organisations to generate their own clean energy and reduce carbon emissions. Dimplex is now offering ten year warranty on solar PV panels, plus additional certification for salt mist and ammonia. The new ten year warranty on all Dimplex solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, coupled with a 25 year pe... [more]
Dimplex extends choice in solar thermal water heating(12/05/2011)
Dimplex's SOLC201 flat plate collector provides a cost-effective way to start enjoying low cost, low carbon hot water. A laser-welded meander absorber pipe with a highly selective coating means low pressure drop of the overall collector field, while a solar safety glass covering with 85 percent transmission allows the collector to absorb a large range of light frequencies for maximum efficiency. 30mm rear and side insulation holds on to the he... Dimplex Renewables' solar PV modules generate their own clean electricity at Southampton headquarters(07/04/2011)
Dimplex Renewables has installed its own solar photovoltaic modules on the roof of its Southampton headquarters, thus generating zero-carbon electricity. The array on the southwest-facing roof of Dimplex’s headquarters is around twice the size of a typical domestic installation, with 16 modules covering 27m2, to give a total output of 3.68kW(peak). It took just two days to complete the installation at the end of August and so far the system ha... [more]
Dimplex solar PV installer training course covers all aspects of the grid connected solar PV systems(20/12/2010)
Launched in April, the government’s Feed-in Tariffs (FiT) provide guaranteed income for 25 years - up to 43.1p for each kWh of electricity generated, even if it’s used on-site, which also saves on energy bills. Ofgem reports a total of over 6,600 solar PV installations since the introduction of the scheme, 2,257 installations in August alone, so qualified installers are set to be much in demand. Thanks to the feed-in tariffs, solar PV is seein... [more]
