SunEdison, a subsidiary of MEMC Electronic Materials (NYSE: WFR), and Xcel Energy’s regional operating company, Southwestern Public Service Company, have announced a deal for five photovoltaic solar installations in New Mexico that will total 50 megawatts (MW) in generation capacity.
Once completed, it is estimated the five 10MW systems will:

Xcel Energy plans to help customers save money by using less energy with a comprehensive series of new and expanded programs under its proposed 2010–2012 Conservation Improvement Program (CIP).
